Project Summary

The HCC Muse Multipurpose Facility is the newest addition to the Hinds Community College Rankin Campus. This building has glass curtain walls that extend from floor to ceiling across the north and south sides of the building. This allows for vast openness through the building from the front entrance as well as the back dining area. The curtain wall was provided by YKK- AP and specifically fabricated for this project. The exterior insulated glass units are high performance units provided by Arch Aluminum. These high performance glass units will help with thermal heat gain on the interior as well as energy costs. There are glass handrails in the lobby leading to the second floor that adds to the magnificence of the front lobby area. These glass handrails were supplied by Vitro America of Texas. On the north side of building there is an aluminum grill that is custom fabricated from 4” x 12” aluminum tubing, and engineered specifically for this application. This grill extends the entire length of the curtain wall. At the south side of the building is an aluminum trellis also custom fabricated from 4” x 12” aluminum tubing and engineered specifically for this project. Both the aluminum grill as well as the trellis were built onsite to custom sizes. This project was completed on schedule and within budget.
