The Trent Lott National Center for Excellence is a newly constructed academic facility located on the University of Southern Mississippi campus in Hattiesburg. Started in early 2005, this project took an extensive time to complete due to the impact of Hurricane Katrina. The 53,000 square foot building models a Greek Revival style of architecture. The entire front length of the building is studded with bronze cladded entry doors. Walking up the front walkway leads to a very elegant structural glass wall that extends up to the second floor. This glass wall is equipped with a revolving door that’s adds to the grandeur of the front entrance. The glass for this structural glass wall was imported from England and fit together with spider fittings and glass fins. Above the front entry way is a circle window with the Mississippi coat of arms custom sandblasted into the glass. The exterior windows around the building were a custom extrusion and fabricated specifically for this project.
Numerous suppliers were involved in the successful construction of this building.
